Math
With over 15 years of teaching and tutoring experience, Mrs. Yan founded YCT Tutoring with the purpose of helping students reach their fullest potential. Christy holds a Bachelor’s degree from UCLA in Sociology and Spanish, along with a Master’s and Ph.D. in Education from UC Riverside. She has also taught at different universities, working with students aspiring to become teachers and work with children. Mrs. Yan also has experience in research projects in the area of math development.
Language Arts
Mr. Yan graduated from UCLA with a B.A. in English Literature and is currently studying for his M.A. at Biola University. He has written two children's books, a screenplay, and a short story. His interests include helping people become better writers and chasing the next big adventure through story.
Science
Ms. Sun graduated from Caltech, with a B.S. in Biology, and will be pursuing a PhD in biological sciences at Stanford. She has teaching experience at after-school programs as well as summer programs for elementary and middle school students. She has also privately tutored and coached high school students in various math/science subjects and standardized test prep.
Social Studies
Mr. Song graduated from Cal Poly Pomona with a B.A. in History as a member on the Dean's List. He is currently completing his teaching credential in social sciences. He has years of teaching and private tutoring experience, and his favorite subjects are European History and US History.
Chinese
Ms. Tang has several years of experience speaking and writing Chinese, which includes both Mandarin and Cantonese. Her interests include practicing Chinese calligraphy and making origami. With previous leadership roles in UNICEF and Junior State of America, she is now focusing her studies in the field of psychology.
